Most of the work in this county comes back to the same thing. Gulf Coast clay does not absorb water, so it has to be moved, and almost every problem a property owner calls about is really a question of where the water goes.
That is why the work expanded the way it did. Drainage led to excavation, because you cannot correct a grade without moving soil. Excavation led to concrete, because a slab placed over a subgrade that holds water will not last however good the pour is.
The three trades are quoted separately by most companies. We do them as one scope, in the right order, which is usually why the result holds up.
None of this is complicated. It is mostly a matter of doing the parts nobody sees properly.

When the job is not ours. If what you actually need is a plumber or a foundation engineer, we would rather say so than take the work and find out halfway through.
When the timing is wrong. Drainage installed in the middle of a drought is guesswork, because nobody can see where water goes. Sometimes waiting for rain produces a better system.
